Right? Me too.
I had not heard of this until this article. I was trying to find out about quantity that would be lethal in the sugar-overload sense.

Yeah, I call BS on that as well.

As for whether or not you can consume that much honey... it's magic, guys. :D

The toxicity issue is probably a mixture of 2 facts gone into overdrive...
Honey "might" contain significant amount of Botulinum spores.
As an adult you don't care - natural acids in the gut break it down.
Babies under a certain age do not have enough acid in their stomach so honey "might" produce live bacteria which can kill them.

To be safe, various health authorities recommend NOT to give honey to under 12 month olds.

(note the use of the word "might" twice in my explanation....)

My mum used to make honey by making jam out of clover flowers.
It did look and taste like normal honey to me back then.
