Aren't you supposed to modify the saving throws by attributes already? I thought poison got a bonus based on your con benefit. I could be wrong. It's been a long time since I read that section.

Per the rulebook you add the modifier to some Saving Throws.

Of course, you as the GM can rule that other abilities work for other rolls.

There it is! As a note on poison though - your best bet is to actually take a little bit of Iocane powder over time. This will actually grant immunity. That way, when you're facing a Sicilian, and death is on the line, you'll be ready!

As long as you dont get involved in a land war in Asia then you'll have avoided the two biggest blunders of all time .

Why would one get involved in a land war in Asia? You may not know this, but I defeated a Spaniard. To do so required study, and in studying, I discovered that man is mortal. A protracted land war in Asia would surely lead to my death.
Only a fool who had - perhaps off the top of my head - defeated a Giant in civilized combat would consider themselves strong enough to do so, but frankly, not even my dizzying intellect could imagine such a person.

Inconceivable!!!
Back on topic, though, modifying saves via circumstance or relevant Abilities is one of the more common house rules I'm aware of for these games. The suggestions in the book suffice for my purposes but you can feel free to get creative as long as your rulings are consistent and fair.

This thread took one heck of a wonderful tangent!
