Looking for an online game

I'm wondering where might be the best place to look for a game - i.e. on this forum or on the facebook group for BFRPG. I am brand new to tabletop rpg but have been playing computer rpgs for a long time. I've wanted to play tabletop rpgs since I was a kid in the 80s, but never had anyone to play with. Fast foward 30 years and I'm trying to get into it for the first time with my kids. I bought the core rule book and read through most of the book 3 times (except the spell and monster lists). I was trying to gm for my kids, but my son is not quite old enough yet. In the meantime, I'd really like to start playing. I don't have any experience with roll20, but I'm open to whatever medium the group or gm chooses. I'm on eastern standard time and am available on Sundays or Mondays.

I've had my best luck getting players on Facebook, honestly. The forum isn't immediate enough, and I usually seem to need a player on a last-minute basis. Your mileage may vary.

Some other options to try when looking for games is the looking for group subreddit (reddit.com/lfg). Alternatively if you use discord, there are a few discord servers dedicated to OSR tabletop games systems where you can find posts looking for players.

I have been using discord to run a few play by post campaigns to some great success. Currently DMing two campaigns for a total 16 players. Due to my work schedule and the differing time zones and work schedules of my players, this has worked out quite well for them.
