Invisibility cast on self

Post Fri Dec 25, 2020 7:01 am

Hi guys! Merry Xmas :) While translating the BF rules to spanish language, I started to wonder about the invisibility spell, and how it works when the wizard cast it on himself... The way it´s said on the rules:

If the spell is cast on someone else, neither the caster nor his or her allies can see the subject, unless they can normally see invisible things or employ magic to do so.

leaves me with the impression that if you cast it on yourself you could actually see yourself? How do you guys handle this?

I remember this coming up before and the consensus being that if you cast it on yourself, you cannot see yourself unless you normally could see invisible characters somehow. (Other magical effects and some creatures can.) The wording is confusing but that was the intention, I think. Could be remembering wrong.

It just says that the invisible person can't be seen by anyone unless they possess a special way of doing it. It does not says if an invisible person can see him or herself.

But, using the Invisibility 10' Radius spell you could judge that an invisible individual can see him or herself.

Yeah, but it says 'if the spell is cast on someone else...', maybe implying that only in this case you can't see yourself. Not sure, just wanted to confirm with you guys, but what you say makes sense. Still don't know what I'll do. Thank you both! :)
