Maps for the Published Modules

It looks like many (most?) of the maps in the published modules were generated with MapMatic. Are the MapMatic sources for these files available?
Asking because I find myself gaming mostly online these days (via Roll20 or other VTTs) and find it is very time consuming to prepare maps for screen use. However, most of the work comes down to: 1) removing the grid; 2) removing map keys; and 3) resizing the image to better fit a screen. I often end up retracing whole maps in Inkscape if I can't clean them up nicely with Gimp, which is fairly often.
There must be a better way of doing this. I'm wondering if MapMatic has a feature to regenerate images without grid lines and/or at specific resolutions? I can see how one could remove the keys be editing the map source, but not sure about the scaling or grid. If it doesn't have these features, is the source for the program available? I'm a software guy and would be happy to hack on it and try to add these capabilities.
