Hope everyone is doing well.
So I am looking to start running some sessions with friends of mine. Problem is most of them have never seen roll20 or they just dont really know how to use it. My thought instead was to start running play by post sessions on discord seeing as they have some pretty easy dice plug ins that could make the experience alittle easier. Due to friends having varying schedules it makes it difficult lately to find a shared time that we can set aside and run through a campaign and such. I'm looking to run a few one shot sessions just to get everyone acquainted with the play by post concept and then move onto a module (will most likely be morgansfort for simplicity and ease).
Do you guys have any tips for running a game in this style. I have gone through and read some of play by posts here in the forums to glean any info that may he useful so far.
Also any tips for a newer GM would be much appreciated. I am planning on using the base rules and add supplements for when we get a better hang of things.

Re: Tips for running a game using play by post
I've run two games PBP years ago. One suggestion is to streamline the rules as much as possible. PBP can be really slow, especially when you are waiting for replies. You might have them roll "to hit" and damage in the same post to keep things moving.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
