ODT is the main file format for LibreOffice (or OpenOffice offered by Oracle).

Get free suite of office programs that is comparable to MS Office programs:

Grab LibreOffice as Smoot said, depending on what you want to create, download an .odt as a template and work on it. Once you are ready to create the file you can do it with LibreOffice itself.

As said, simply download libraoffice and open tge ".odt" files. In libreoffice you can then save/export the file as a ".pdf".

Note that there is an adventure template in the Workshop.

Choose whichever version is described as "stable."

As mentioned, check out the links in my signature for templates to create your own adventure and/or supplement. Or, even I often take an existing odt and "gut it out" depending on the formatting I need.
Also, feel free to PM Solo or me if you need the fonts.

For which version of Libreoffice to use, I'd recommend the more established 6.4.7 version. 7 is pretty new and while I haven't had any problems it will get a lot more work and refinements with more time.
