Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have stopped by. Loving all the new adventures coming out (I started building a hexcrawl in my head with a some adventures from the anthology two already).
This morning I started working on a dungeon map in map matic. I've figured out copying and pasting and stealing similar bits to make these process quicker.
Any other tips?
Save often obviously.

Hi Shane! Sorry for the late response!
While I've never posted anything I've created in MapMatic, I've played with it quite a bit.

While I've never posted anything I've created in MapMatic, I've played with it quite a bit.
I have two pieces of advice:
- First, rotate, rotate, rotate. I use rotate a lot. It makes it seem like you have double the brushes to use. It's easy, at first, to use the default rotation on everything, but it really livens up a map when you've rotated a lot. For example, I made a ring of statues, and just rotating that "pentagram" brush does a LOT to make the map feel like it can be viewed from any angle.
- Second, pay attention to the codes in the "Cell" area. Once you learn all the keywords for the brushes, then all the operators after the period to rotate, flip, mirror, etc., then that can be almost faster than searching for the right brush from the palette.
