Elemental Magic
Elemental Magic
I noticed we had a fire mage(Pyromancer) as a possible choice. For some reason I can't find it on the list at this time. I was wondering if anyone had any info on doing other magic user such as water, air and earth magic. Trying to remember if anyone published anything like this that could be used as a guide to creating one. At this time the only thing I have is GURPS magic. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

mjhyke,
The Pyromancer is in the Showcase section of the Downloads page, https://www.basicfantasy.org/showcase.cgi this is where supplements that aren't ready for prime time go so that they can be reviewed and discussed.

Re: Elemental Magic
It seems the Pyromancer is quite unbalanced and is not recommended...
I would go with lowering the costs of learning/researching spells, saving bonus against fire and using only the spells form the core rulebook (maybe those from the new spell and libram magica), I would let "modify" a spell into fire type if it looks ok but would not change spell levels nor spell values...

Re: Elemental Magic
I assume when you say unbalanced that the means the class is to powerful?

Yes. Though the updated text may not be as bad as what we playtested... but it needs playtesting.
