How rare are Magic Items in your campaign? Do your magic items have a curse or a negative aspect to them while giving a bonus or positive aspect? I was curious about other GM's and their take on them.
Example: In a game of mine, a player character has a magical sword that steals the lifeforce from the person being struck with it (damage done is converted to heal the player at 2 to 1 ratio) but the sword over time makes the character look and smell like an undead. If it is used on undead it takes the hp from the character and gives it to the undead.

Re: Magic Items
I throw out the occasional + weapon now and then but not alot of uber gear. And I like to give each weapon a name as well, it means more, even if its just a plus +1 to hit weapon.
