I'm new to this Basic Fantasy RPG. I'm 30 years old. I played the old red box basic DnD in highschool. I played ADnD and a few White Wolf Vampire games when I was in the Army. It has been about 9 or 10 years since I played. I wanted to get back to playing some fantasy RPG in the style of the old DnD. The new stuff kind of turns me off and I can't afford it since I have to pay bills now. I'm really excited about what I'm seeing here. I just downloaded every free pdf on the site! hahah! My wife is going to be happy that I didn't have to pay for it!

Welcome!
First of all, don't feel as if you have to actually utilize every Supplement that has been put out. Start with the basics for a game, then add in material that actually enhances your campaign and game-play style. The appeal for many folks is that BFRPG needs very little to make a game run.
I would start with Morgansfort or Chaotic Caves as initial campaign locales. They are wonderful for that.

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Thanks for the advice homie. I'm going to make my wife play with me at first. Just her as a player with a party of NPCs. I have only DMed a few times before.......I'm not very experienced at it. Is there a specific supplement for tips on how to be a better DM? I've been looking through the basic book and it is really good so far. Thanks for putting this out there. It is pretty professional looking.SmootRK wrote:Welcome!

Chaotic Caves and Morgansfort fit together pretty well, actually. You could easily make a campaign out of the combination of the two.
