Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is John, I live in Athens, Ohio. I was a little skeptical of yet another mock of AD&D, but Basic fantasy has really wowed me. I have been gaming for years, mostly D&D in its various forms and editions.
My current group of six players, is loving this version as much as I am. It brings the simplicity back.
I want to congratulate Chris Gonnerman on such a wonderful job.
We are currently using middle earth as the setting, with no specific rule changes, it is about 100 years before the ring was found.
They are currently in an abandoned moat-house, looking for the sceptre of a necromancer, who is kidnapping people from bree, archer, and several other small towns, along the Midge Marshes. They are still first level, soon to be 2nd.
I am curious though, why was Naga not added in the monster section? Any particular reason?
Thanks John
Greetings

Re: Greetings
I think it is because that specific monster was not added till AD&D 1e and BFRPG was designed to replicate the feel and pacing of the basic D&D with some more modern mechanics for the most part. I could be wrong though and only Solomoriah can say exactly why he included certain things and not others.
Oh, a big welcome to the club from a fellow Ohioan that now lives down in Alabama.
