2nd ed converion for workshop

I wanted to try to submit an adventure idea to the workshop and had two questions about that.

1) do Monster Manual 3.5 monsters count as srd compatible monsters?
2) if the first answer is yes, is it possible to just use the 2nd edition stats for those same monsters to save time?

obviously if the answer to the first question is no, then the second question doesn't matter. I am also aware that a good number of monsters are already in the BFRPG main book and the Field Manual, but not all of them, which is why I am asking.

2e, 1e, or basic bx or becmi will work as better starting points than 3e, in my opinion. I usually go for 2e personally when I can, just my personal preference.

3e will work fine for lowest level creatures to convert but the conversions get really wonky as one gets to higher levels/HD.

Monsters listed in the D20 SRD can be used; if they're not in there, they're copyright and not open by Wizards of the Coast and cannot be used.

Generally this is true. Monsters based on folklore can be created independently, as long as you don't copy directly (or even too closely in indirect mode) from the original source.
