Pure roleplay is the best way to go, think about what the npc thinks about the topic or situation and resolve from that point.
Using the Reaction roll adds a little of randomness and can be helpful.
In the Showcase there is the Dispute Supplement that is an alternative method for resolving some roleable situations.
