Hello Everyone. I am really glad I found this site! I have downloaded the game and organized the mountain of paperwork. I must say, when I first came upon the site I cried for 23 minutes. It was amazing! old school AD&D isn't dead, it's alive! ITS ALIVE!!

I have already gathered a group and will be making charcters soon. I have written (45% complete) my adventure. If its any good I will ask SOLO to maybe post it up. I like the adventure modules others have written - some good stuff!

Okay - who is DiceClown? I am glad you asked. My name is John, I live in SW Missouri. I am 37 and have been an avid RPG gamer for many years. I pretty much stopped just before 3.0 emerged. However, my love of the original AD&D still beats within my chest. I am rather opinionated about the "version wars", but I will never let that wreck a friendship. Lets just say I m really, REALLY glad to be among you all.

BRING YOUR OWN DICE!
John

Welcome Diceclown and hi all. Also new here and looking for a live online weekly game. on Thursdays. I'm 50+ and hail from SE Texas. I've recently run some Labyrinth Lord but am currently groupless so I figured I would check out this system.

Hey Gilliadson (Thanks for the warm welcome from all!)

I have looked into the Labrynth Lord game recntly. I Think LL is closer to the D&D game and Basic Fantasy is more like AD&D. It is hard for me to get used to elf, dwarf or hafling being their own class. I would like to get a chat-based game going. I have my own website with chat...I am looking for an online dice roller to embed. Once I have this set up I would like to play one-shot Basic Fantasy games. INTERESTED?

I think I need to give a heads-up. I am an ordained minister (chaplain really) and my site is geared toward my own RPG creation, "Redeemia" (90% complete) which is an old school format game also. I am NOT..repeat NOT against non-christian roleplaying games. So, please do not feel I am a "beat-you-over-the-head-with-a-big-black-bible-kinda-guy"

I cut my teeth on dungeons and dragons since the late 70's (I was about 6 yrs old when I played with my older brother). Led games as a DM when I was 8. I am a Christian advocate for roleplaying games 8-) Tghey are, after all, the FIRST Life Group...the church community thinks they thought of this
