Welcome to the forums. Enjoy the show.
Use the "mark topics as read" link (while in the
General Discussion area)... near top of page to the left of the page links (page x of z). This will clear all the old posts for you so you can keep up with new posts more easily. Thats how I do it so I can see immediately (as red) any new posts that show up.
The only place I don't do this is in the PbP games where I don't really moderate the posts.

I use the mark post as read as well. Being color deficient the red post don't pop out for me either.

Hi all, new BFRPG fan here. I DMed a few sessions in the 90s (2e) but haven't been able to play or DM since. (Frustrating!)
Recently a comment by a co-worker reawakened the pen-and-paper RPG urge. After some searching on Google and reading some forum posts I found BFRPG. I'm trying to get a gaming group started but work and my schedule aren't making it easy. Hope to play soon!

Welcome! Never easy to get groups started, a well known phenomenon.
