Re: Welcome to the Basic Fantasy RPG Forums!
Hello everyone,
Grumbeard is the name. I have known about BFRPG for a long while now. Always knew it existed and have even read it a couple of times over the years. A neat piece of work I thought and was then forced to run 5e again. However things have changed. I am completely burned out on 5e and wizards and modern D&D in general. Never want to buy anything from them again. To much powers and not enough fun. So I opened up trusty taxidermic owlbear and went down the list of original, B/X and BECMI clones. BFRPG once again was right up there with the other big names.
So here I am a recent convert to this exceptionally well written and clean game. Going to have a lot of questions coming up the following weeks. Mostly world building. Happy to become part of this group and hope to add much over the coming years.

Re: Welcome to the Basic Fantasy RPG Forums!
Hi folks!
I finally decided to join the forum after a couple of years of lurking on this forum, though I have been playing BFRPG for almost five years now. I wouldn't call myself a veteran but I have been playing RPGs for about 20 years, and my first game ever was B/X even though I was too young to fully appreciate the experience.
I own many different systems, most of them being old-school or OSR, but I always find myself coming back to Basic Fantasy for its accessibility and its incredible community. The open nature of this project is truly amazing and I fell in love with all the supplements, especially the modules. The fact that everything was made available to everyone for free is a true blessing in a world that seems to want to monetize everything.
In any case, I joined the forum since I am willing to contribute to the project and give back to the BFRPG community in one way or another. I have quite a lot of material I designed over the years that I would like to share and I would also like to contribute to the translation effort (I can do English to French) to make all that awesome material more accessible around the world.
Thank you in advance for welcoming me here.

Re: Welcome to the Basic Fantasy RPG Forums!
I lost whatever email I had on here years ago, but I'm an oldschool D&D/OSR fan (actually, RPG and fantasy in general) who's had BFRPG for some time now. I'm currently trying to find some people to play an oldschool, BTB (well, except for treasure XP) OSR game, complete with light source tracking, player mapping and save-or-die.

... treasure XP is "by the book" as it's an option in the back.
