Can we improve search on this forum?

The list of blocked words can be rather annoying. For example, I'm trying to figure out how much experience I've gotten in Longman's jungle adventures because I'm behind on record-keeping.

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: experience.

I lowered the frequency limit, but experience is still far too common a word for the search. Sorry.

Can you search by author (Longman) if it's his rulings you need to find?

Longman is a very prolific poster. I was able to find it a different way (reading every page in the forum and using the find in the browser). My OP wasn't so much "help me find the content" but "improve search" because I frequently get rejected when searching for posts.

I'm not sure why that feature is even needed. We only want people searching for esoteric topics?

You can also go via Google: "experience site:basicfantasy.org/forums" (without the quotation marks, of course).

Guys, I know how to search. I work for a web search company. My point is, I shouldn't need to rely on searching through trillions of pages or a bunch of workarounds for a site that offers its own search functionality.

And then there's this error:

What I did: I went to General Discussion and searched on 'Woe' (yep, that's me!). Then I pressed on Advanced Search. That's it! One and done.

In trying to fix the search, I broke it. Then I fixed it again. Try it now... hopefully the problems are fixed.
