I may be a little bit biased, but I think my version is more in-line with the core rules, the S&W ST are going lower really quickly, which can unbalanced the game a bit. I really like the idea of a single saving throw, but I think that a Fighter having saving throws of 4 at 11th level makes a lot of spells/monster "unscary" (if that's a real word).
I'll check it out - thanks. I'm still on the fence about it, actually. Love the simplicity of it, but I'm still a fan of the original 5 save system too. Not sure how far I want to drift from the original mechanics of B/X-style games. BFRPG, LL and Mutant Future, Stars Without Number and it's derivatives - all still use the 5 saves...

It probably depends on your players too. Most of my players have never read a RPG rulebook and want simple but fun stuff. The single save mechanic worked great.

The only think that I disliked with this system (I am now back to a 5 save system) is that it makes spells effects more easily avoided but poison/death effect much more dangerous, generally.

You can give bonuses and penalties for those saves based on the attack/damage source but it adds an extra layer of thing to calculate.

I found an awesome Tron hack for BFRPG called "End of Line". I'm thinking of playing it with my sons.
