I run roll20, though right now I don't have a slot. That's not to say I won't eventually, and can keep you in mind.

Also, if you need any roll20 advice, I'd be happy to share what I can.

I play on Roll20. I play text and I'm part of Knights of the Written Word and there are like 250+ players in that one group. There's an interest check there fairly often and responding to those is the best way to find a group to join. Also, check the forum thread "Looking For Players" daily. On Roll20 you have to make a conscious effort to find yourself a game to play in because they have an unfortunate tendency to not last long. Some do. Most don't.

I run a BFRPG text only game on Roll20 (as Joshua W.). Right now, my game is full, and due to time constraints I have limited opportunity to play so I restrict myself to that one game. However, another GM and I are talking about putting together a game that might involve a couple of one shots and a series of mini-adventures (4-6 sessions each). Not sure what system we will use, but would be something with an old school feel, it might be worth looking for in the future.

As Mint mentioned, there are a lot of players and you can usually find someone looking for interest in one system or another. The only issue is that there seems to be a severe shortage of GM types that want to run games. I imagine that is common all over, but on a bright note it seems that there are always new folks jumping in. I would check out the BFRPG group (although there isn't as much activity there as in the past) or the Knights of the written word.

Good luck finding a game.

I'm a GM of BFRPG on Roll20. My open table style campaign is called, "Explore Dungeons Inside a Strange World" and you are invited to join if you like. Read the game's page on http://www.Roll20.net for the details about the scheduling, character creation, and gameplay style. I will send you a link to join so you can find out all about it.

I am playing 5e twice a month with a group though I am fairly new, they are helping me along. I used to GM in the 80's lol. I would like to be proficient enough to do it again. With Basic Fantasy I can make it happen sometime in the not to distant future with some roll20 training for gm's. Does anyone else use just google chat or skype and roll the real dice?

We use Skype for the audio, though that is more out of habit. I hear the roll20 audio is getting better.

Roll20 seems overwhelming at first, but you don't have to use EVERYTHING by any means all at once.

Just use text character sheets, ask folks to roll their own dice on the desk. Then you just have to worry about tokens and a map. Learn the other features as you go (though the "fog of war" and the "reveal" tool are worth learning early.

Another EASY option is an online whiteboard. We used Twiddla for about two years before roll20. Do a Skype or GoogleHangouts call, through some images on Twiddla (free) and go.

Talk to Benson on roll20. He has a group called Dungeon Master League and is working to help people knock the rust off their skills and learn how to use roll20 better. Tell him that Pat sent you.
