I am expecting delivery of a couple of coil-bound books... surprisingly these are my first actual copies. Up until now, I have been simply using my PC or a printed out version of my own make. The Hard Cover editions will be following later (Lulu split the shipment).

Since it is fall break for my children here, we may have a game today. Should be fun.

Funds are always an issue. 40% off from that website (FALLREADS) pushed me over to getting a few copies finally. That particular deal is only good until Oct 15

My coil bound copies arrived this evening. They are very very nice. Paper quality is good, and what I really like is how they lay open so well... perfect for table use.

And.. I got notice that my hard-cover editions are shipping today as well. A couple more days and I get to be all excited all over again.

Cheers!

It is a plastic coil, but seems like it will last well. My bigger concern (with Lulu in general) is that the ink may smear, only because one gets a hold of copies so soon after printing and the ink is not so well set. I will probably try to keep my Hard-cover editions put up for a couple months to allow a little more time for everything to set.

fyi- I bought other books (3e stuff) right when delivery occurred and had smeary pages after getting my grubby fingers on them. I am sure there are differing printing processes in play, but rather than risk having my thumbprint somewhere in some artwork, I will just wait a bit.

Seeing the overall quality, I think these will be my default gifts for anyone with a bit of gamer in their interests.

I have a coily and several hardbacks, and no ink smearing is evident on any of them. Are you sure the ink is a liquid in the first place? The output looks like high-grade laser reproduction to me.

I am not sure, but simply being careful... probably overly cautious and unnecessary. I should have the hardback copies any day now.
