Ok...that's oddly disturbing and the really disturbing part is that I don't know why I find it disturbing.

BX doesn't go to 36, it goes to 14.

BECMI goes to 36.

I know, that is why I said 36-ish :P I always thought of B/X as par of BECMI and assume that if "expanded" B/X would have reached the 36 levels style, and BF is always described as a B/X game rather than a BECMI one, so I made that weird description

So, I'm getting the feeling, that in order to capture the BECMI feel, I should be looking at Dark Dungeons instead. With me converting all the material over to that system instead. Is that more accurate?

Honestly I would rather have 14 levels. It feels more natural for most of the levels to exist before name level.

I had promised to locate and re-share my House Rule Document. I haven't forgotten. It is just the document is on a hard drive that is not currently connected to my computer, and during the times where I am at home I have not remembered to get it connected. Need to send myself a note.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

To those of us that predominantly played B/X , BECMI is a totally different game that has no real relevance to B/X :).

Another thought is that you don't have to build a player up from 1st level in every campaign. You can start PCs at any level. You could start them at level 30 if you wanted.

More thinking leads me onward to the idea that if I wanted to play PCs of that level without starting at first then it would make more sense to just play a game designed with the idea that the PCs are basically gods like Exalted.

What's the difference between BX and BE? I always felt they were fairly similar, especially with B.

I don't think there is a difference between B/X and BE. Its the CMI that makes the difference.
