Re: Core Rules Errata
No problem on the errata. I enjoy seeing how systems are put together.
If you want me to make changes, let me know which ones and how you want the files handled.
On the movement rate comparisons, I thought backwards compatibility would probably be the deciding factor. I might house-rule a few changes since I've already done the comparisons, or maybe not. Thinking about having to modify adventure modules before running them might be enough to dissuade me.

Re: Core Rules Errata
Let me get back to you. I've already begun updating the monster section, so I'll need to send you my copy to work with.
Go ahead and email me and I'll do just that. solomoriah@basicfantasy.org
Thanks!

Re: Core Rules Errata
I'm starting to edit the monsters and have a question.
For cloud & storm giants, gnomes, hobgoblins, kobolds, lizard men, minotaurs, ogres, and urgoblins, I would like to add what kind of armor they wear. Should I just add armor to fit the numbers, or do you have some specific ideas for these?

I'm open to your interpretation. If you have specific suggestions, you can post them here first for discussion.

Re: Core Rules Errata
That's a plan. I'll make a list and post them here.
One more question. It looks like you're reducing the unarmored mvt. by 10' or 20', depending on the armor, regardless of the unarmored mvt. (E.g., Goblins have unarmored 30' armored 20'.)
Centaurs move 60' & have AC 15 (13), so I assume they wear leather or the equivalent. So, their armored mvt should be 50', right?
I'm only checking because at first I thought the armored mvt was done as a ratio, like 1/2 or 3/4 of the unarmored.

Re: Core Rules Errata
Here are my armor suggestions. Any thoughts?
On the bugbear, the description doesn't have any armor, but the picture shows a bugbear in armor.
- centaur: hardened hide armor, including barding (any rules for that?)
- giant, cloud: plate armor, finely crafted and often engraved
- giant, storm: plate armor, plain but well-cared for
- hobgoblin: hardened hides, wooden shields
- kobold: leather (maybe lizard hide?)
- lizard man: leather (lizard hide?), shield
- minotaur: leather
- urgoblin: hardened hides, wooden shield

Hmm. Do we have barding rules? Probably not important for a monster.Sir Bedivere wrote:Here are my armor suggestions. Any thoughts?

Plate mail armor, methinks.Sir Bedivere wrote:giant, cloud: plate armor, finely crafted and often engraved

Sounds good.Sir Bedivere wrote:hobgoblin: hardened hides, wooden shields
urgoblin: hardened hides, wooden shield
Let's leave both of these as just "leather" and let the GM decide what kind.Sir Bedivere wrote:kobold: leather (maybe lizard hide?)
lizard man: leather (lizard hide?), shield
Fine.Sir Bedivere wrote:minotaur: leather
Your logic is interesting. However, I want to leave the "rumored all-urgoblin tribe" as a rumor. I don't want to write it up. Unless such a group appears in an adventure, it should be left un-detailed.Sir Bedivere wrote:On the rumored all-urgoblin tribe, maybe they would just slit the throats of all male infants? They know females can't be urgoblins, and letting them live provides mates for future urgoblin boys. Or maybe they just prefer stealing their womenfolk. What do you think?
I probably should look at the statblock and description before I rule on this.Sir Bedivere wrote:On the bugbear, the description doesn't have any armor, but the picture shows a bugbear in armor.

Re: Core Rules Errata
Looking back at the urgoblin description, it says all urgoblin offspring are male, so my comment there was pointless. Sorry about that.
I'll make the changes above and wait on the bugbear ruling. I should have everything done tonight or tomorrow. I'm using the Change > Record feature in OOo, so you'll be able to see all the changes I've made in the file. Should I upload it here, or is it too big?

It's too big to upload to the forum. I'll get back to you by email with upload instructions.
