The point of the group was not forming a consistent campaign. It is for creating a regular drop-in meeting time, and also running one-shots outside of the regular meet time. I don't see the point of creating a second group that does the exact same thing.

Roll20 has a very easy user interface. You could start by watching the tutorial videos and then ask questions as they come up. They also have a very useful wiki.

With a little creativity you can do a lot with it. For example, even without the API it is possible to hack together a language system where a player can speak in a given language, and only other players (and the GM) who know that language can understand it.

There was a request for "Tales from the Laughing Dragon". I don't think I will get the playtest done in the text week, so I am going to run that instead.

Congrats to everyone who worked on AA1 for getting it ready for print.

Currently we have 5 people. We are still flushing out the details on how we are going to do things.

I have started up a thread in the group to vote on making the group searchable and inviting people outside of these forums. Bringing in new players could help bring new people into the game and get our numbers up. There might be arguments against it, so we'll see how that plays out.

There is probably quite a few members here that are roll20 users also. I run a live text game on roll20 on thursday so a dropin game on friday is do able. -1warrior if you have questions about the roll20 mechanics you can post your question in the roll20 forums and get help there. As treeant said roll20 is not to complicated for it is design to replicate the table you would use in a face to face game.

Friday is also a good night for me. I can't make it all the time, but when I can I can stay up much later than on a weekday (I am EST and work early).

Second roll20 plug, it runs in a browser off their own server, so you don't need to install anything. So long as you use one of their supported browsers it should just work.

There is a google hangout app also for roll20. You can run roll20 and use google+ for the voice or run it in the hangout app.

I would be willing to do a text chat game. Is that how roll20 works?

You can do text chat or voice chat.

I'm running a text chat game in roll20. I've ran a pbp there also but real life among other issues caused that one to fold.
