2nd Edition!? Wow!

Post by iamtim »

Ok, so, I've spent the last couple of years *out* of the RPG hobby. Between the start of my sabbatical and my triumphant (bwah hah hah ha!) return, Basic Fantasy 2nd Edition was released.

I have a hardcover Lulu print of 1st Edition.

What are the main differences between the two editions? If this is already summarized somewhere, a link would be great (my forum Google-fu is weak...)

Thanks!

Pretty minor. The most significant changes are to the wrestling rules and the stronghold rules. Also, some humanoid monsters have details added for leader-types.

There is no reason you need to buy a new copy of the rules. I recommend you download the new version and look it over first.

Welcome back!

But the new book *looks* so much better! :)

I'll follow your advice, though, and give the download a once-over. Or two.

Thanks!

Both books are great, but the 2nd edition is nearly perfect in every way. The 2nd edition is the one that is going to grace our gaming tables for many years to come. :geek:

Just because you don't need to, doesn't mean you can't if you really want to. >,>;;
Characters:
Himamura Jin (Night Wizard; Level 6 Great One/Level 1 Caster)
Benjamin d'Aide (BFRPG; level 5 cleric of the virtue of Sacrifice) - recurring hireling turned pseudo-DMPC

I just bought the soft cover (along with the first 4 issues of Fight On!) and it's a thing of beauty. Great job!
