Among the fistful of Taiwanese soap operas (it is how I keep up with my Mandarin… I can’t do it solely with martial arts programs), Babylon 5 re-runs and kaiju movies I have been watching while I travel I finally watched season one of Barbarians (Barbaren) on Netflix. It is a historical drama based on the Germanic rebellion against the Roman Empire led by Arminius. I have to admit I am not sure how well it is following the known history ‘cause I am a bit behind on my Tacitus, but it is good television and the seasons are binge sized (only about six episodes). It is definitely on the R rated side, though, if that matters. I will probably watch season two while flying to and from New Mexico next week (unless a little kid sits next to me on the plane… then I keep it PG and catch the next couple episodes of Xīlì Rénqī, The Fierce Wife). If you liked Rome you will probably like Barbarians.
Weird thing, though, is the show’s logo makes it look like it is called Barbarians II but the red “II” is just a bit of decoration mimicking some ritual paint worn by some of the characters.
I have been reading/listening (audiobook while I drive) to The Ivory Vikings by Nancy Marie Brown which is technically an exploration of the origins of the Lewis Chessmen but is practically a popular history of 12th century Vikings.

Re: What are you listening to/watching/reading?
Listening: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Hozier, Eels.
Watching: X-Files, Buffy, Star Trek Animated Series
Reading: Proof-reading a bunch of stuff here, doing a Let's Read of Labyrinth Lord at RPGG (though it's stalled a bit lately).
The 90s stuff in that list (music & shows) is inspired by my current play by forum game of Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG (again over at RPGG). I'm playing Cami the Vampire Slayer. I'm also in a play by forum 5e, I run a weekly BFRPG F2F game, I run a 5e game for my daughter (plan to convert that to BFRPG once Dragon of Icespire Peak is finished) and have solo games of Ironsworn, 5e (I like the characters but the game has stalled), Bastards., and a few more on the go. I check in with those whenever the mood takes me. Lately this has been rarely.

I was watching mainly YouTube videos today. But March 25 is Tolkien Reading Day, so I will continue reading Tales from the Perilous Realm, which is a collection of his short stories and poems.

Listening to: Hozier (specifically "Francesca," an interesting song inspired by characters in Dante's Divina Commedia) and Boygenius (specifically "Not Strong Enough"—pretty great contemporary indie folk).
Reading: Tea From An Empty Cup by Pat Cadigan (cyberpunk mystery/thriller) and Season of Storms by Andrzej Sapkowski (a prequel to the main Witcher series).
Watching: Carnival Row Season Two (pseudo-Victorian England fantasy noir and political thriller) and Hell's Paradise (fantasy action—and occasionally borderline-horror—anime).
