The next big project...
The next big project...
With the impending release of BF1 Morgansfort as a print product, what is the next big Basic Fantasy release that could see print?

Well, I'd like to say it will be the Almanack, but honestly I don't know. Right now, I'm more interested in draining my queue of unposted works.

It's awesome that Morgansfort is going to print soon, but getting more stuff 'done' isn't very important compared to getting material out there. BFRPG has lots of material that is designed for it, most other retroclones or simulacura have little or no native material. Solo has done the farsighted thing and established an ecosystem where the ruleset supports the supplements and campaign materials and the fanbase produces more new materials with little official input.
The only flaw I see is that it requires his input to be official, but it's his game.

The game has to stay small to stay good, but it needs options also. That's why the production system works like it does.

Quality is key, and it is your game. Any DM or player can make thier own version and play it but to be official you have to sign off on it. I have no problem with that. There are potential problems with this system, but without giving the rights away or selling them no good solutions to those problems.
Re: The next big project...
Solo being the 'one' to do finishing touches on releases works great for consistency and QC, but it creates a bottleneck of sorts. There have been others who volunteered for portions of that responsibility, but the consistency of time with each has faltered from time to time (including recently). No fingers pointed, because regardless, I appreciate ALL contributions to the process.
I would not hold Solomoriah as responsible for the latest slow down (until now).... I would hold him up as the one who jumped in and rectified the latest slowdown by release a torrent of pending materials. Cheers

Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

It probably got lost in my digression about single points of failure, but I intended to express my gratitude for all of Solo's work. BFRPG and it's associated materials have given me and my gaming group many hours of entertainment. Thank you.
Please continue with releasing new material as quickly as you are able. No matter if it is ready for print, we will enjoy it.
Thank you.

Thanks for the info. As mentioned, the QC of the work really stands out as a shinning example of the simulacrum movement. It's all OK in my book, though I may complain from time-to-time.

It's been a few months or so. Any movement towards a particular front for BF, like that monster book (which would rock) or the Almanak?

It seems both Mr. Smoot and I have too many irons in our fires... I'm planning on putting out a feature-complete Almanack before the end of May, but beyond that I have no concrete plans.
