I get your point about demonstrating that it 'is' being played. And I agree that people need to see that it is 'popular'. Again, use the means that one has available. It is all part of the collective effort of spreading the word.

Also, anyone should feel free to share more ideas for spreading the word.

Two of the Administrators at the Mayhem Gaming forums have set up a "play by post game that will be using Basic Fantasy RPG rules mixed with a known 4e setting (Nentir Vale) with components from other modules and settings as desired by the DM's (Metroknight and MINI)." They haven't started recruiting yet, but I PMed one and they said it was ok for me to create a character. I was planning to hold out my remaining free game time for an VTT chat game, but this looks like it could be fun. Two DMs running two different parties (maybe more DM/parties later) and what happens in one campaign affects another. ie, if a Goblin attack burns down a village, then that village is burnt down for all campaigns :). Just passing on the word in case anyone else is interested. here is a link to the sub-forum for that world ...

BTW, I think I can claim some small credit for spreading the word since I introduced one of the Admins to BFRPG with this post back in April http://z9.invisionfree.com/Mayhem_Gamin ... c=2515&hl=
