In live face to face games, I actually like using miniatures when we get into encounters. I feel it helps me roleplay and be more imaginative if I can see where my PC is in relations to the rest of the party and the monsters, as well as where I am in a room.

But I rarely get to play live face to face, so I play online, PBP and live chat, and in most cases we use tokens to represent our PCs. Its so much easier to jump over the bar and slip thru the back door when I can see that I am standing next to the bar than it is when I have no idea where I am in a room and where the bad guys are.

I personally think minis get in the way.

I've played both ways, neither way is hands down better than the other. They both have strengths and weaknesses. But that the beauty of rules light game like BF. The system doesn't require it one way or the other so you don't have to "work around the rules".

I enjoy the rules lightness of BFRPG in the same way. It makes my game a lot easier. :)
