Basic Fantasy RPG auf Deutsch - German Translation
Posted: Fri Apr 05, 2013 8:57 am
Parts 1 and 2 have already been translated. The files will be available in the download section, shortly.
I've posted this article https://mad-kyndalanth.blogspot.de/p/ba ... ng-dt.html on my Mad-Kyndalanth blog..
Here are some translated points of the blog post:
Why a German translation?
1. I like Basic Fantasy.
2. Some of the players I know would like to read a German rulebook rather than an English one. And not everbody is fluent enough with English.
3. I use OpenSource software (Inkscape, GIMP, Linux), and would like to contribute to the OpenSource community. I do not code software, so translating an open source fantasy rpg seems appropriate to me.
I'm working with R77 right now, so the complete translation will be based on the 3rd Edition.
I mentioned the German version of Labyrinth Lord, as well - it deserves credit. Herr der Labyrinthe is a very good German translation of LL, and there are adventure modules available, too.
About the progress ...
I'm now working on part 4 and the first level spells. Parts 5 and 8 will follow, with the remaining spells, monsters, and treasure after that.
I might translate a few monsters and treasure descriptions in-between.
I have not set a deadline for the project, but I'd like to have the work done by the end of this year. If you would like to help, drop me a few lines.
Take care!
