Just wanted to pop in and say that I love Chaotic Caves and cannot wait until you have it setup for Print on Demand from Lulu. Great stuff here, likely to used in conjunction with my old B2 (KotB) to mix things up for my players. While either one is great, both is even better! Then they travel the seas to take on the Dread Isles!

I always wanted to see another B2 by Gary Gygax. I'm not claiming he was the best ever module writer - but he almost always wrote something I wanted to read and play. And looking at the credits and contibuters to the old basic modules is always interesting (lots of people seemed to contriute in some way to some of them...)

I got your modules, but it will likely be tomorrow before I get them posted. Thanks!

There's no rush: given the elapsed time, rather than spend time uploading this I can provide a yet a further edit to fix things like "it's" and non-hyphenated "magic user" and kill two birds with one stone. I also noted there are too many monsters in some lairs (gnolls, bugbears) and probably not enough in the final manor, by which time the PCs could be 2nd and 3rd level..

Just my opinion, but the overland map of JN1 is one of the weaker points of the module... not that I could do better of course... just it could be done a little better. You might even suggest that this intrepid map maker (or another cartographer) might redesign the map completely, having free reign to move stuff around a bit as necessary. It might even spur some additional ideas for fleshing out the adventure.

I'm uploading the updated JN1 and JN2 right now. I've corrected some formatting issues, so if you can, JD, please use these copies for further updates.
Since JD hasn't weighed in on death_jester's maps, I'm not including them.
ALSO, I'll have to redo the blue maps in black and white for Lulu reproduction... unless you want to do it, JD.

death_jester's maps look great - provided they will have enough contrast to be legible and are grayscale (per the Dragonsfoot thread). I threw the maps I had together, tried four or five schemes and picked the one I was least unhappy with. A quality replacement map would work great. He's using the older scheme with 1 to 20 places which I didn't like (don't like telling GMs what to do; most have enough sense to do what they want), otherwise it looks great. Hexes will help round it out, make it more organic.
Regarding the blue maps: I'll take a whack at turning them gray. I was wondering about that myself, so I understand. The original maps will be available somewhere (I'll host them on Photobucket at least) for anyone wanting to print a big version.

They need to be black and white, not just gray, to ensure they'll print for those not buying via Lulu. I've found that grayscale reproduction varies by printer model and driver options that are beyond my, and often the user's, control.
That doesn't mean I want you to make them strict 1-bit black and white images; rather, use grayscale, but with the contrast high enough that the walls etc. are actually black.

I e-mailed my edits. I know what you mean; I print tests on a cheap laser printer and gray-on-gray is very poor. The only gray is shading (which may need to be adjusted); details are now mostly black and white.
