OK, went with Joe's idea: Lesser Wights... here is the relevant paragraph.
The Constitution damage is permanent, a result of physical and psychic drain. Due to longevity and/or vitality traits, elves can ignore the first 10 points of Constitution drain; dwarves the first 4 points, and halflings the first 2 points of loss. Lost Constitution can be regained at a rate of 1 point per casting of restoration spell; nothing else (except a wish) can restore Constitution lost to a lich. If a character's Constitution falls to 0, he or she dies immediately, but will rise the following round as a sort of lesser wight. Use statistics for wight in the core rules, but instead of energy drain, the lesser wights do 1d4 damage plus 1 point of Constitution damage like their lich master. The lesser wights remain under the control of the lich for one month then wander off, becoming normal free-willed wights in all ways. Those whom were drained and subsequently defeated are permanently dead and cannot be raised (but may still be reincarnated). Others who die while battling a lich are often still used as raw material for animate dead spell or even more sinister magics.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

Love it. Let me know when the latest version of the Field Guide is up, if it's not already. I look forward to having this readily available to me.

Smoot it looks great to me. I do agree on the wright. On treasure I was thinking G(?). As fsr as the XP goes, since it is a variable HD monster, its XP will be different each time it is encountered. So that means its XP should be variable.

LibraryLass glad you like our little creation here.

If you think it should be G, then G it is. Want to confirm that? I think putting "variable" into the XP field would be fine as well.

Yeah, go with G. We can change it late it's too much. I think G gives the lich good access to magic items.

Ok. I downloaded the FG odt and was reading the lich entry. I have no complaints, but I noticed we have forgotten that a lich can control other undead. I am such a dunderhead. Something simple. A lich can/ will have control of up to duoble it'd HD worth of other lesser undead? Does that sound about right? Or am I completely off my rocker?

Double or triple. I'm basing that on the amount of undead a magic-user or necromancer can have created at any given time (via Animate Dead). It depends on how "master of undeath" you want to make these things.

Aside from the 'lesser wights', I would not bother directly. At their level, they likely have access to Animate Dead spell (probably even one of the necessary ingredients/parts of the process of becoming a lich) or even other spells accordingly. They would likely have the full allotment of animated minions around... more if one uses Necromancer supplement with the additional amount and potential for other types like mummies or more.

Just my thoughts on it, but I can edit in something if you feel strongly for something else.
