"It" (reference to subject earlier in the sentence) works fine, grammatically. I try to avoid too much use of "he/she" or "him/her/it" and that sort of overly correct grammar stuff.... it is not a legal-document, even if there exist some rules-lawyers out there. ;)

him/her/it always bugged me. I like the older form them/they as it sounds so much better. A side note; one thing I never liked about D&D books is they always make such a big deal out of what gender they use "This chapter uses he, this chapter uses she!" Why don't you use something neutral and be done with it!?!

Yes, I wish the English language had such a gender neutral term that works right for this sort of situation (both in the proper grammar sense and sounding appropriate). It just does not exist. Perhaps in a hundred years or so with additional language influence, such will make an appearance.

In Spanish the "correct" use is also male, lots of Spanish games makes a great deal with entire paragraphs about the game not sexist but being grammatically correct...
That is one of two things that principally bothers me on RPG's...
The second is (if you want to know) stupid reference to "other games" and why the game's mechanics are not like in "those games"...

Don't forget the mandatory bit about how RPG's are like playing make believe, but with rules. That always gets me.

"Have you ever played Cowboys and Indians?"
""Bang bang, your death" "no I'm Not" "yes you are" Did this sounds familiar to you?"

You thinking about it, That sort of sounds like your average D&D game.

Just replace ""Bang bang, your death" "no I'm Not" "yes you are"

with "The trap springs, you fail your saving throw" "no I don't I get a bonus" "yes you are I accounted for your bonus"

So um Smoot how goes the spells? >_>

crap, going to be another abnormally hot days in Colorado Springs, just south of us in Pueblo (very close, but very different climate) they are going to have 105F, while we are slated for 97F... ewww.

Temp in the homestead is already in the icky zone... fans ready.

anyhow, doubt I do much more than check in a few times today. I still have loads of suggested spells (thanks to MedievalMan), but certainly I would love to see more, especially originals that do not appear in other incarnations of the game our BFRPG was inspired by. Stuff that can help to form the uniqueness of BFRPG and sets this game apart from the others that are out there. We should always endeavor to be unique and not just copies of other materials (but we are not above using such material too ;) )
