Guys, I need a Druid Reincarnation list. Any Suggestions?
What are the odds (roughly guessing) of a Half-Race if one of those is rolled (ie half-elf, half-orc, half-ogre)
Here is the list for MU:
Code: Select all
d% Magic-User
01–03 Bugbear
04–06 Caveman
07–09 Centaur
10–19 Dwarf
20–29 Elf (or Half-Elf)
30–32 Gnoll
33–35 Gnome
36–38 Goblin
39–48 Halfling
49–51 Hobgoblin
52–71 Human
72–74 Kobold
75–77 Lizard Man
78–80 Ogre (or Half-Ogre)
81–83 Orc (or Half-Orc)
84–86 Troglodyte
87-00 Other (GM choice)
The percentages break down to 20% Human, 10% each Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, and 3% each for other monster races from core rules monsters (boiled down to those who also appear in the Monsters as Races Supplement, which is actually an expansion from the original reincarnation table). The Other/GM Choice roll was substantially expanded to give allowance for those using races such as Phaerim, Bisren, or other homebrew races.

So... nobody does a druid specific reincarnation list?
That means I might have to do some research and likely port some stuff over from other places.

I'm not sure of using that kind of list, Druids are part of nature while on some setting monsters defy nature and/or are the creation of evil gods/supreme beings.
Maybe using HD ranges or HD mods based on the Druid or creature resurrected and to allow the final creature being selected based on a few guidelines? Like: Only animals and natural creatures not associated with any particular gos, or something like that

Yes, I agree. The list above was from the MU version of the spell. The 1e Druid used a substantially different listing, but I have not gotten around to looking it up. 3e stuff uses the same listings for both classes, which when I saw it, thought 'thats dumb, I remember people coming back as badgers and stuff'.
That said, I would not mind a list that focuses on some alternates such as Centaurs, Elf, Halfling, etc. and giving less (numerical percentage) to the humanoid options. Perhaps throw in a few odd things like black bear, great cat, Fey beings, etc.

Maybe replacing the more "evil" creatures with some animals or animal-like creatures....

This discussion reminds me of a campaign recap I once read. It was in 3E and the party had 2 druids for their healers. Well people kept dieing and the druids kept casting Resurrection to hilarious effect. I think everyone but one druid changed races at least 3 times during the course of the campaign. I remember the mainline fighter was changed into a gnome at one point, which was pretty funny.

Been working a bit on the Spells Document.
Patting myself on the back a bit... but this one is really turning out to be a great tome. Takes a while to get the hyperlinks combined with the Index, and in the end, I may just forgo the indexing feature and index manually. Every time one updates the index, it is like a new object (losing any changes, such as the hyperlinks). But in the end, after frustrations this will really be nice. I updated the first post of this thread with the pdf of my latest work. Not much in the way of new spells but tons of formatting and linkage. Beginning the work on Spell Lists (table form) to be located at the end of the document (for now). I may re-arrange later, but for now that is where they are... because, if I move stuff around, then I have to redo the indexes again anyhow...grrr.
Anyhow, comments and suggestions always welcome.

So let me ask...
Spell listings by class is going to take up 6 or more pages. Knowing that, would you want the listings to come before the spells are detailed, or better at the end, somewhat like a set of appendixes??

My inclination is to put spells by level (by class) at the front. Once you have a basic familiarity with the spells, this is what you end up checking most often.
Also, Dark Lightning makes reference to memorized spells. That one will be a tricky tweak.

I think coming at the beginning would be cool personally
