I've read two of the books so far. You can find them on Project Guttenberg, and I think they're in Kindle and other e-reader formats.
Yes, got a file from http://www.mobileread.com/ that contains a bunch of the ERB books. Another file from there contains a set of Cthulhu stuff, and I went ahead and got a Tarzan Collection (more ERB). A bunch of reading to get accomplished, but I also have other stuff that I am in the middle of too. For my relatively hard reading, I have Shogun vol. 1 & 2 (James Clavell), as well as my going to sleep stuff (Star Trek TNG novel for now "Dark Mirror").

I use to have the the whole horseclan series and it was dry reading but I liked it. It felt almost like you were reading a pseudo documentary / biography at times. I think there was like 18+books in the actual series but I can't remember for sure. You can usually find them a used book stores or I used to a few years ago. Some libraries might have them also.

The Horseclans page is someones wiki like page about the writer and the series. It covers most of what people need to know before looking for the series. The person lists some pro and cons about the writing style and the content of the series. There is also a good time line.
Knights of the Written Word 2 is a friendly Roll20 community created for those that prefer written text games or have difficulty with voice games (for physical, mental, emotional, or technical reasons).

Waiting to recover financially from our recent vacation, but I will be hitting the used bookstores soon as funds are freed. The hunt sometimes makes the 'find' all that better.

Any movement on this one in a while, Smoot?

Not really.
I realized I was trying to make some sort of all-encompassing post-apoc setting... everything from Red Martians to Morlocks and Planet of the Apes combined. Nothing wrong with that, but I really should have been focused upon one particular aspect. If I were to approach this again, I would probably make a low-fantasy sort of "planet of the apes" mod, and then perhaps a part II of the project as something that drops in some magic-fantasy back into it to achieve something rather like "Thundarr the Barbarian". The non/low magic portion, once finished, could handle any number of other elements such as a Red Martian (ERBurrows) incursion, HGWells Time Machine, or similar ideas.

That said, have no current plans to deal with this right now, but Medieval Man has inquired about working on this some. I don't know all his ideas or progress with it though.

Hi Smoot -
Is there any chance you have the ODT file for this floating around still? I'm pondering using BFRPG as a rules base for an OSR Cyberpunk game (after weighing it against LL and S&W, I'm REALLY liking it) and after stumbling upon this I like the format you have started there. It seems the "trick" everyone here uses is to start with another pre-formatted file and replace the text, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Once I get my ducks in a row, I'll likely start a Workshop thread to toss some ideas at the hive mind and see what people think.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Dimirag - I didn't realize you could open a PDF and convert it back into an ODT with Open Office. Is that all you had to do?
