Cool! Some time ago I acquire all the episodes and is now on my "to watch" list along with Galtar and The Golden Lance, The Pirates of Dark Water, and a few other...

BTW, a few year ago I found a free Thundaar-based RPG

I downloaded that document. Its a fun idea.

Hey Smoot I have a strange and sudden interest in setting my next campaign in the future after an apocalypse any sort of tips or tricks. The idea is that to the naked eye the whole setting is a standard fantasy setting but the truth is its really earth after some sort of cataclysm.

I blame, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2tIPgPwzIg , for inspiring me. Good music. That edited version is way better than the original IMHO.

That is somewhat my agenda in this project as well, except for deciding upon alternate races to dwarves, elves, etc.
Monsters will get facelifts and alternate origins explained (a little) but overall, so far in the future that essentially all traces of past have eroded away... back to pseudo-medieval adventuring.

The maps are going to be hard for me... artistically challenged = smootrk

Hey Smoot. I make maps. like a lot of maps, though I am little out of practice. I used to draw all of my own campaign maps, these days I mostly stick to dungeon maps. So what do you need for this project? Anything you are looking for in particular?

I think it is premature to build the actual environs of this project (if it is even actually needed)... but when I have more down, I will welcome such help.

Has this been pushed to the back burner to be left to simmer for a few years? I downloaded it, but it don't get past describing the Simians.

These things are all open ended projects for me. But yes, I have been rather focused on the Spells Document for the longest time now, and this one is in limbo for a bit.

That said, I have gotten a bit more inspiration for this stuff. John Carter, Mars Mission, etc. all have been turning over in my head lately and itching to get out on my virtual paper. I am planning on loading John Carter books onto my old kindle so that I can get a little reading done.... your post just prompted me to go through the steps to get those loaded from a nice free source for many classic works.

I will try to see if I cannot get something done on it soon!

Dig around for the gurps horseclans. That was a series set about 2 - 3k in the future and was semi realistic for being a fantasy series. There are maps in the SJ source book. They could be inspirations for your maps.

I did some looking... those horseclans books look like just the kind of stuff I would like. Nobody is claiming these are the literary great works of the century, but looks like they have plenty of old-school fun. Gotta scour the used books stores and garage sales now!!

Gotta see about the GURPS Books themselves too.

Another good one is GURPS: Reign of Steel. And of course, there's always Gamma World. Barsoom, to me, is more of a science fantasy world than an apocolyptic world. I've read two of the books so far. You can find them on Project Guttenberg, and I think they're in Kindle and other e-reader formats.
