Ultimate Character Charts
Re: Ultimate Character Charts
Great, if seadon has made the changes, that's perfect. Just post that one and add him to the credits.
Though I'm keeping all the royalties and residuals for myself.

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
Here is the most recent version, with John Fredericks and Sean D. Spencer as authors.
Thanks so much to Sean, I plan to print out these revisions for my DM binder tonight.
Let me know if I need to do anything else on my part.

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
I revised the OGL text (fixed the copyright dates for the 3rd Edition), reformatted the beginning of the document to match other supplements, and did a little proofing on the intro text; I'm uploading it now, so please, if you plan to revise this further, first download the copy on the website.
Thanks to both of you for your work in creating this handy reference. I'm going to print one out for my next session, since we have a few new characters to throw together quickly.

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
Thank you so much Teaman and Solo!
Feel free to check the saving throws on Elf combo classes for accuracy. I went over them a few times and did my best.
Indeed, I started using these charts for handling character level ups (IMC, we're not using the thief adjustment option, so it's pretty straight ahead) and realized they'd be great for one-shot quick character generation and for quickly making pregens as well.
*For my own guilty pleasure I also made my own variation of the file, with just the original race-as-class characters (human fighter, thief, magic-user; dwarf and halfling fighter; and elf fighter/magic-user) for quick printing.
Regards

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
Just a couple little minor formatting things I noticed:
*The Elf Magic-user/Thief should have a border/line between the spells and the thief skill section -- my fault, not sure how to do that in LibreOffice but I can look into it.
*The new note on surprise for Elf classes should not be in bold *sigh*.
I can attempt to make these updates. Other than that, thanks again!

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
Highlight the column you want a border beside, then right-click inside the highlighted area and choose Table. On the Border tab, add a border just on the side of the column that needs it.
Or I can take care of it for you if you need help.

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
Thanks Solo! I found it, under Table... (or Table Properties in the top menu.)
I'm also thinking of squeezing in the Cleric vs. Undead table onto the cleric classes.
Would that be overkill?
EDIT: I wonder if it's better to leave out cleric vs undead because there are alternative turn tables out there?

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
OK, two new possible/proposed revisions:
*r3, corrected the table formatting
*r4, includes cleric's turning ability
*It also occurred to me that the Halfling Thief Hide ability could be interpreted as "Hide in Shadows", and hence different from just general hiding. In fact the Thief's Option's supplement has a hafling racial adjustment to the Hide ability. However, I'm going by the rules as written in the Core book with regard to thief vs halfling hide ability "whichever is greater." Any thoughts?

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
I'm impressed to see the turning abilities added as well, it barely fits
I would stick to what's in Core so these get the most use; for those who use alternate rules, well they can download the odt and change as needed...

Re: Ultimate Character Charts
I haven't made any changes to these, but let me know if I am supposed to.
Right now, revision 2 is up. I haven't done anything with revisions 3 and 4, and don't think I have the power to upload them anyway. (Though I could be wrong).
Please advise.
