If they gave permission to use them, what kind of statement would be needed? I ask because the site looks like an attempt to provide sustainable landscape information to the public. I can't imagine they owuld have a problem with us using them.

A reasonable assumption, but I can't go on an assumption, unfortunately.

I asked because I sent them an email and wanted to know what you would need if they respond positively.

Not exactly original artwork in their own right... I am sure one could use them as an example that could be recreated in some fashion. What is needed, Vector Art? A small b&w gif? We have a few artsy folk around here that could probably do it in short order.

Smoot.. You were reading my mind.. . I can't imagine they own those drawings, I took Drafting and Architecture all through high school and I know everyone uses these for their site plan drawings. That being said, what format would you want Chris if I was to take a stab at doing these on my own?

It doesn't matter if they own them or not. They have designated them as theirs and Chris won't use them unless they give permission. But like you said. Its not that hard to draw them if you have any talent at all. I have none, so I would rather just ask for permission :)

Indeed, Hyway has the right of it.

Were someone to provide me with legitimately free images, I'd need them in a bitmap format; the standard image is 66x66, so the original would need to be that size or larger. I'm perfectly comfortable sizing things down to fit.

Chris.. Under the Fade options there is the 'Grid'... What would you use that for? I played around with a bit but I can't really see what its doing.
