Anyone with suggestions to improve MapMatic +2 should post them here, for the moment. I'm giving it some serious internal attention, so now is a good time to jump in and fix things up.

I would love a simple map compass. Nothing fancy just maybe an N with an arrow above it. I tried improvising one with the existing symbols but couldn't get anything that looked good.

Done. It's in the Dressing section.

Did you notice the quick shortcuts to doors, walls, and stairs?

any chance of having a menu button put up that is linked to mapmatic+2 so that it is quick and easy to get to from the forums?

If I knew what you were asking, I'd answer... what exactly do you want the site to do?

Maybe a sticky post with links right to the main sections of the main site.. Perhaps that would do?

You should replace mapmatic 1 with mapmatic 2 on this page http://basicfantasy.org/mapmatic.html . Tie all the help files, sample files and tutorials to mapmatic 2 and get rid of mapmatic 1

The main MapMatic page (mapmatic.html) is for basic MapMatic and MapMatic +1; MapMatic +2 has its own page, mapmatic2.html. If you get there by way of the tools page, it's now first on the list (if you still see the original versions first, refresh your page).

Believe it or not, I have at least one devoted user of classic MapMatic, so I'll not be removing it. It "costs" me virtually nothing to have both versions... they all share a common codebase.

I was wondering if having a button up in the corner like the FAQ button was possible. If not then don't worry about it.

It just looks like mapmatic is the primary mapping program since all of the tutorials, help files, sample maps, etc point to it. Just a suggestion, but for the sake of new users, you should let the older versions be the stand alone and the newest version have the support files and the dedicated page.
