I wasn't clear, I'm speaking about available daily spell slots, both the necromancer and the illusionist have the same amount as a MU, but maybe should have 1 extra per level as a kind of specialists?

Ah, I see.

No, I don't think so. Yes, they are specialists, but their spells are just as powerful as Magic-User spells, just in different ways. Adding the ability to cast extra spells per day would be very unbalancing.

The only place that really makes any sense is with the Fey-Mage/Blood Heritage Sorcerer because the ability to cast the extra spell is compensation for having their spells known be so severely restricted.

Spellcrafters gets some "crafting" bonuses
Illusionists gets a save bonus vs illusions
Should Necromancers get a bonus on saves or another roll? Or their weapon access (which they won't use a lot) is enough?

This comes from the ability requirements, if the only and mayor difference with a magic user is the spell list (having some share and some exclusive) maybe requiring only Int 9 or better is the right way.

Which also means the Spellcrafter should probably have its XP value increased unless its of lesser magical power than other casters

Being able to field an army at higher levels is a pretty good bonus.

Also, I don't want to "entice" people into this class. It has to be worth it to them.

This class gets two huge benefits just from their spells:
1) They get to control three times their level in HD of mindless undead. That adds up. At higher levels they can add mummies to the mix, just for fun. Around that time, one of their spells lets them completely control even intelligent undead for a little while. They really do get a noticeable number of minions.
2) They get great battlefield control spells, especially later.

They have a very different feel than a standard Magic-User, or the other two variants. I think they stand up as-is, especially with their expanded spell list.

I like the shading 8-) Don't know if the image would break the flow or not (but not being in print, this is likely not as big a deal).
