Happy Friday the 13th! If you are in the mood for a horror adventure module in the vein of the original Friday the 13th, My Bloody Valentine, and other horror slashers from the 1980s then here it is!

It is called "Midnight on Blood Lake." The map included in the adventure is from a dungeon generator called donjon. I of course made edits to random generation to fit the needs of the adventure. I give credit and cite the dungeon generator but if this piece was ever to be included in a print or download adventure collection it would most likely need a new, original map. The adventure is also playable without the map at all, the DM would simply lead the players room by room according to the adventure layout. But the map does add flavor.

I personally don't know of an easy way to draw simple graph paper dungeons digitally.

This Is Now in AA2

Good job ! It's always a pleasure to see new contributors on the forum.

I'm personally not a fan of those Abilities check with a DC and prefer the standard BFRPG checks. Furthermore, if I was to run this adventure I would probably remove some of those : let's make the players make their own assumptions.

I would suggest taking an adventure in the showcase and copy-paste your text in it, for getting a standard BFRPG editing : with it, your adventure could probably be posted there with Solo approval.

I think the map may have a bit too much dead ends, but again its your adventure, you can do as you please :) . If you prefer to drawing a new one, check out Map-Matic +2 in the tools sections, its simple to use and give a nice result.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried to get as close as possible to the formatting I've seen in the books. I had never considered downloading a pre-existing adventure to use as a template. (duh! Should have thought of that earlier).

The DC checks have always been sort of up in the air for me. I really do like the simplicity of the DC table in the core rulebook. However, I've spent so many years playing 3.5 and Pathfinder that I guess I've just gotten used to there being specific DC checks according to each story/encounter in all the pre-made adventures I ever bought and played. I've also written my own adventures for those systems and usually did the same thing. I may keep them, I may throw them out--who knows.

My Halloween adventure used the same DC style system for parts of the adventure--mostly for the pumpkin harvest's contests and games.

As far as the map, it is a randomly generated thing that I made use of as best I could. But, like I said, I'll trying making something else for the map down the road.

As this is now in AA2 I'm locking this thread. Post all new feedback, etc. in that thread. 8-)
