Dynamic Defense

Ever had a player that wished to roll for his defense in combat? Here's a table that modifies the corebook's AC to allow the rolling of a die every time the character is attacked.

How to use the table: Simply roll the chosen die and apply the AC bonus based on your equipment, the total becomes your AC against the attack.

Some notes:
-The table does not use every possible AC value so it is not applicable to monsters (this is meant for players, GMs had already a lot to do.)
-GM's wanting more rule variation can increase or decrease the die based on some situations instead of applying a modifier, or even cancel the possibility of rolling the die (got surprised? no roll for you!)

I don't understand. What determines which of the 3 die the player will roll?

GM taste. He determines what kind of die will be used and if only that die will be used of his game.
Some may prefer the use of a d20 to make defense equal to attacks, others will prefer the d10 or d6.

Neat! The averages all work out the same, but the extrema end up different depending on circumstances/taste.

Thanks, that is part of why I didn't put a specific ruling on what die to use, a GM can stick to only one die or use several, or even let the player to choose the die (the bigger the die the better your AC can go but the lower it can also go)
