I'm going to do a serious look at the quasi classes before I take my game live online.

Not at all. It would be interesting to see how others utilize the concept.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

My acrobat quasi-class is a simplified version of the one from AD&D:UA.

That is the source material that I would have been utilizing as well (or from the original dragon magazine article). The idea Gary had was interesting, but wonky in certain ways... splitting the thief class off in another direction after 5 or 6 levels, and overall the new characters was somewhat inferior to a standard thief, even with the different array of abilities.

The whole idea begs for a different take on it, and as a Quasi-Class I actually think the idea can work in an even better way. Share yours when you get a chance.

Sort of like the Cavalier and Paladin?

Or one of the previous rangers and knights, IIRC at level 9 or so a fighter can stop leveling as a fighter and choose become a ranger or a knight (that's why AD&D ranger could use any weapon and armor)

Or if we want to end this conversation before it begins...

a 1st edition AD&D Bard.

Shit had more prereqs than the most stringent 3E prestige class. You had to be a straight baller to earn that through play and not just start a character off as one.

I don't know anyone who thought the 1e bard made any real sense.

I think its done! Quasi-Classes 2 release 1!

As always, there could be a lot of misspelling and grammatical errors.
