Re: Community World Building
I think we need some more in the geography department. But it seems to be a question not many are willing to answer, so we will move on.
The next question might be a bit more interesting for some of you.
Name a figure/church/guild/organization that plays an important role in the Principality of Lunaria.
Lunaria is nominally ruled by a monarch (Princess Lunaria IV), but due to the princesses habit of throwing all-night parties and drinking till dawn the real power lies in the hands of The Honorable and Most Right Cheesemakers Guild. The “cheese burghers” as the common folk call them run the day-to-day operations of the countries economy and policing. Of course as mentioned earlier the real power in the country lies with a group of demon worshipers...

The Cult of Unholy Aspergillus, the Father of Mold, whose profane rites I dare not utter in polite company, suffice it to say that they delight in spoilage and ruination. The devastating effect of mold on cheese is what allows them their stranglehold over the burghers, but it would be broken if only they knew that the halflings the next duchy over are just mad about bleu cheese.

The Guild of Honorable Arts & Entertainment: AKA GHAE, they are the ones that provides with artist to Princess Lunaria. They started as a few scattered individuals, but thanks to the all night parties they have formed a guild and increased in power and renown

The Mayor is a member of the cult but is not the actual leader. He is their face man and keeps any investigations pointed in the wrong direction. They have just recently discovered a devil worshiping cult in the local area and are planning on alerting the local church and others about The Cult of Unholy Aspergillus so that the focus will be turned away from them.Metroknight wrote:The ruling body of the kingdom are demon worshippers and have to keep it a secret because the local church is actively hunting demon worshippers.

This. So much this. How about "The Guild of Arts & Musical Entertainment" then it can be called GAME and the members are GAMErs.
devil worshiping cult
Why don't we say their are multiple demon worshiping cults all competing to rule the country from the shadows. But because they are always ratting each other out to the church no one has succeeded in taking complete control. The Cult of Unholy Aspergillus
Hows that?
Also continue, you guys are on this one!

The Sandy River is a fast way to move things... if you know its secrets. While it is an easy row round the mouth and bay, there are tricks and treachery to be found as you move further inland. If you wish to go all the way to the capital, or pass into the Dwarf-held Vaulted Vale, you need a professional riverman. The Sandy Punters are a "guild" of local fishers, watermen, and bargemasters that know the best routes, hidden rocks and beast lairs, and possibly have an arrangement with the local watersprites.
If you want to get up river fast, or your cargo delivered safely, you need a Punter.

Legion of the Scarlet Circle
The local order of clerics who are desperately trying to rid the town and countryside of the seemingly never-ending string of demon worshipers and dark cults that keep popping up. Due to the many different factions pulling them in different directions they are never able to actually effect any change as their focus continually keeps changing.

The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

A notorious paladin is called Van Helsing and tends to bend or break the Orders rules in the name of his lord. He is known to show no fear nor mercy when on the hunt and has personally removed from existence hundreds of demons and worshippers. If he is spotted in the area, it is commonly assumed that there is going to be a wave of dead bodies and burnt houses.Blazeguard wrote:Legion of the Scarlet Circle

Word reaches various ears on the street he was seen just days away and is on his steed riding hard towards the town.
