Nova class, tried for the painted look (a little) like old illustrations.

Okay, so, new core rules posted.

The work involved in converting to TSGS 2E convinced me that TSGS 2E is a mistake. This release restores the original rules, and I think I'm definitely sticking with them for now.

I need to design a character sheet... must get on that.

One thing I'm curious about but what happened to the Soviet Union in all of this? Did Kosygin join the Solar Alliance willingly? In 1985 Reagan and Gorbachev agreed that all conflict with each other would stop in the event of an alien invasion of either country. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-ne ... 180957402/

I think it would be interesting to see how this would play out between the US and USSR in the sixties/seventies. Other major changes would probably be no Vietnam. The immediate threat of the Taurans would probably mean all military resources and capabilities are focused on broad level defense of Earth - but that would probably mean slow downs in other technological developments. The loss of the threat of total annihilation from the USSR would probably slow down development into DARPA projects such as ARPANET, and instead put more focus into ship based computer systems and microprocessors.

This is pretty fascinating to be honest as a what if scenario.

The Soviet Union objected to the renaming of the UN as the Solar Alliance, since they believed the US was effectively taking it over. When their objections fell on deaf ears, they left.

The first adventure, Shakedown Cruise, actually has Russians in it... and in the playtest there was a gunfight in space. :D
