Talim stands behind Thorgrim, peering into the room.

"Let's go inside."

Thorgrim cautiously enters the room and begins examining it for traps or secret doors. If he doesn't find anything he will start examining the items in the room starting with the cabinet, then the bed, and finally the fireplace.

Thorgrim searches the room top to bottom but doesn't find any signs of secret doors or traps. He turns to search the rest of the chamber. The cabinet contains several articles of clothing but is otherwise empty. The bed, though messy, appears to be devoid of anything interesting as well. Inspecting under the bed turns up an open footlocker than contains nothing more than an old pair of shoes, an empty ink pot, several old quills, and an unsealed letter marked for the AG. Looking in the fireplace reveals what looks to be a well burnt book. Not much remains of it.

Thorgrim carefully fishes the remains of the book out of the ashes, mumbling to himself, "If someone cared enough to burn this, it must be important."

He will try to examine it further, and get the others to have a look at it as well to see if they can discern anything from the scraps. In any case, he will keep what is left for further investigation in the future.

Very little of the book seems to have survived the fire being almost entirely reduced to ash. Only a bit of the last part of the book remains and of that only the bottom half of a single page has any writing on it.

….tomorrow for the fen. Farin says the journey should only take a day or so. Hopefully they won't have any trouble finding the tomb a second time. They claim they slew all the guardians and all that stands between us and the inner chamber is the locked outer door. I have my doubts but 25% was too sweet a deal to pass up. With luck I will return shortly to town and the AG will be none the wiser.

"Oh dear, I seem to have lost count. Where have we been again?"
Magner seems a bit distracted.

"Interesting. Seems our man was doing a little freelance work."
Talim asks to see the unsealed letter.

OOC : This is the third room, I think. Anything interesting in that letter?

The letter was dated several weeks prior to the current date, and is addressed to the Adventurers Guild. From what you can see it looks like a standard report on activities taken in the area. A list of names of new recruits follows the report. As you go to return the letter to the envelope you see a scrap of paper stuffed in the envelope itself.

It simply reads...

"21 North, 8 East, 8 North. Look for the briar covered hill."
