Chapter I: Into the keep of Kamir

(OOC: Nnn... I suppose we'll assume Neville will climb the ladder, then. Got to keep this moving)

The ladder seems quite stable. Neville steps over to it, trying to be careful. The balcony looks as if it might fall at any minute. Slowly climbing up, and peeking up, Neville sees what looks to be a ritual happening. There are eight goblins, dressed in red feathery clothing, chanting something. (Neville can't understand what they're saying) A goblin chieftain is at the back, waving his staff and chanting as well. In the center of it all, is the goal. The girl. Her clothes are stained with blood. She is chained to a pole, her arms over her head, crying.

(OOC: To bad I already used my sleep spell . But then, the last conflict we were split up facing 7 gobs from two directions and some unknown actions from the wolves. Anyone want to take a nap? )

Galan sighs, "Well, it looks like we'll have to storm the ladder. We'll probably have to do it one at a time though by the looks of the balcony. We should be able to surprise at least some of them. Hopefully that will give us time to all get up on the roof. What order do we want to go in?"

My suggestion is that Neville creep to the top of the ladder and Thaddeus climb up just behind him. Then neville race forward and backstab the closest gob. Thaddeus will race up and run past to cut the girl loose. Davros can come next to attack the gob looking to attack neville. Then keiler and galan come up and race up to attack any gobs approaching Thaddeus. Once the battle starts Pero will spike the door to the kitchen shut (not sure which way it opens. Did we see a lock in the door? Thaddeus' key may fit it. if not their is a door or chest around here somewhere).

Next round, Thaddeus will attempt to free the girl and retreat to the ladder with Keiler and galan. Neville and Davros will defend the ladder. Then we form a semi circle around the ladder and fight off the gobs. While neville climbs down the ladder, Thadeus lowers the girl to Pero. then people good with bows climb down while the rest of us fight. Whoever has the most hit points remaining goes down last supported by bow fire from below. And we drink our heal pots as needed.


Or we can just wade in and fight it out in a circle around the girl while pero cuts her lose. Then we stand our ground till they are all dead or we are.

Aye, ye may wanna let the little fellas up after Neville. They're quiet-like. Except maybe Davros.

No point in me gettin' up there till they know we're there.

How far down is it from the balcony to the ground?

(OOC: how many halfling do we have? I just went and looked, I was thinking the thief was a halfling, but he's a human and the clerics are halflings. Too funny.) ok, change of plans, the two halflings try too sneak over the side, and wait then Neville (for his surprise backstab) with Thaddeus right behind him and then keilor. pero will stay on the platform with oil flasks if we have them and a torch. If he cant spike the door he will hit the females with a flaming oil flask.

But do we want to fight it out up top or gran the girl and run. If we run, we need to come back to look for the chest the key might fit

I think fighting it out on the roof would be preferable to trying to fight while climbing down a ladder and possibly getting stuck between reinforcements. At least there we can all "circle the wagons" so to speak and have everybody attacking. I do think the revised plan is sound.

(OOC just so you know, as a player, I never feel the need to kill everything in sight if a good smash and grab and then run like hell will get the job done . But we don't know what the females are doing. it would be good if the door opens outward so Pero could spike it shut with a few spikes. But I also like other spoils as well and somewhere in this place is some loot. Kill em all then search the keep)

Ok, modified plan for fighting it out on the roof. The two halflings try too sneak over the side, and wait then Neville to surprise backstab the closest gob. Once Neville attacks the two cleric haflings attack the gobs on his left and right. Then Thaddeus, waiting on the ladder right behind Neville will, attack any of the first three gobs that are still standing after neville and the halflings attack. Pero will use a dagger on any gob engaged in melee with someone else. and keilor should do the same. If the three are already dead, and we have surprise, pero and keilor should move on to the next free gobs. Hopefully we will drop 2 or 3 of these first gobs the first round. If the three are dead but no surprise, they should rush to the girl followed. Pero will cut the girl free and get her ready to move while Keilor protects him. The next round we all move to form a circle around the girl and fight the gobs till they are all dead. I imagine the females will make an appearance before that happens but we have a lot of heal pots left.
