Re: RPG Primer and Old School Playbook
I found this book by accident while ordering the last of the BFrpg adventure books on Amazon (I have all the available print books now! :D ). I'm writing up a full review for my new blog, but for now I just have to say that it is an excellent tool for new players. I have a couple friends my age, 14 ...

BFRPG and D&D5e both borrow their AC system from D&D3e.
I misread the original post about AC and thought "why adapt that from 5e, they're both derived from 3e and essentially the same."

Re: How do you level multi-class characters?
Thank you for the nice reply. My urges to start tweaking stuff in Basic D&D were what led me to check out BFRPG. I started getting bored with race as class characters and wanted a little variety of options. Other things like ascending AC don't bother me either way. The only big change I've made ...

Re: Oh no! It's.. Frankengame!!
didn't see much about adapting anything from 5e, other than ascending AC BFRPG already uses ascending AC. I personally like spontaneous casting as opposed to Vancian; but 5e doesn't allow many "spell slots." If you don't think 5e allows enough spells per day, you're going to hate any old ...

Re: How do you level multi-class characters?
The "clumped-together" way is the canonical version, i.e. the actual rule for BFRPG. You may, of course, do as you wish in your own game, but if you want to know how it's supposed to work... that's how. This is one part of BF that I think is an improvement on AD&D1 style multi or dual...

Cool to have another young'un 'round here but I imagine in your case, one of your parents is already into rpgs? Very lucky if that's the case Dad's been a gamer all his life (he used to use the online handle "chatdemon", if any of you remember him) and started my love for fantasy and game...

OMG's review video is how I found BFRPG in the first place. I knew him from the Save or Die and Roll Initiative podcasts, so I trusted his claim that BFRPG was true to the old school, and checked out his YouTube.
