Mumford casts Shield on himself and runs into the fray, shouting "This way, men!" in the most authoritative voice he can manage. He'll stay in the rear, making sure the group doesn't get encircled.

"Room looks empty anyway. Should we leave it alone? I don't like the thought of the ceiling collapsing."

"Good job, Bosco."

OOC: I've been trying not to name him, but I'll go with 'Bosco'.

Mumford gives a wide berth to those at the door. He pets the dog, watching for any changes in its behavior.

"Ah, aherm."
Mumford gets up quickly without making eye contact and follows the others out.

Mumford begins to turn toward the corridor when he sees Alena putting on the ring.

"Wait, no!" At great risk to his physical well-being he attempts to bat Alena's hand (whichever is closer) away.

Mumford makes a mental note of the engraving.

Mumford moves to take a closer look at the ring (keeping a respectful distance, of course).

Mumford peers around the corner as well. "Shall we see what they have provisioned in the northern room?"

I want to see if Mumford gets to see civilization again.

To be honest I didn't feel like you fumbled at all. The only thing I think could be improved was the post frequency. But that's a given in online play, and may be something that has no solution.
