I like this idea, but I feel there should be more. Maybe making rules for this is unnecessary but I have always felt that MUs should be able to do things like light fires or lamps or pipes without using a spell. Minor magical effects... enough fire to light a candle or wind to snuff one, make a coin...

I think that they are completely arbitrary artificial restrictions designed to make humans more attractive choices in campaigns using race/class rather than race as class.
